Most window tint films are able to resists up to 95% of ultra-violet ray. Most of them could resist around 75% to 95% of infra-red ray, depending on its range. The higher the capability to reflect infra-red ray, the more expensive it will be. When using window tint film on thick glasses, such as double-glazed glass, make sure you check with the merchandiser on its suitability of use. Window film is usually installed on the inside surface of the glass. This means that heat will still penetrate through the glass and stop at the window film surface. If installed on a thick glass, the heat generated between the window film and the glass may be too high for the glass to take. Types of Window Tint FilmsIn general, there are two types of window tinting films available in the market. They are the adhesive-based ones and the adhesive-free ones. Adhesive-based window film means that it require some form of adhesive in the form of glue or other adhesive in order to stick the window film to the glass surface. Usually, the installation of this type of window film is permanent, meaning that it will stick permanently to the glass surface and once you have install it, it will be difficult to remove. On the other hand, the adhesive-free window film will stick to the glass through static action and there is no need for additional glue or other adhesives. This type of window films are getting very popular nowadays as it is easy to install and remove. Installation may be carried out as a DIY project without the need to employ a team of professional to do it for you.
